| Govt for augmenting basic amenities in rural areas: Gharu | | Rs. 20 lakh earmarked for up gradation of Khepar road | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 17 Over Rs. 20 lakhs would be expended on up gradation of about one and half km road leading to religious place of Baba Barfa Nath temple at village Khepar. This would include metalling and pre-mixing work so as to improve the connectivity of backward villages with city. This was stated by the Minister of State for R&B Ch. Gharu Ram after inaugurating the pre-mixing work of road under R&B sector at village Khepar in Suchetgarh constituency. He issued on the spot instructions to the concerned authority to complete the metalling and black topping work before the commencement of annual religious festival in the area. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister underlined the importance of maintaining conducive atmosphere and political stability for accelerating massive developmental activities in the three regions of the state. He said that road connectivity in the state especially in rural and hilly areas as well as border areas of the state has a pivotal role to play in their development. He said that all the villages with population of 2500 will be connected to main road under PMGSY scheme. He said that centre government has provided huge funds to the state for socio-economic transformation of the people of the state. Gharu Ram said, after completion of this road, the long pending demand of this area will be fulfilled. |
