Tourism Department today organized a function to felicitate the engineers and the contractor, who constructed the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar in a record period of found months..
Secretary Tourism, Nayeem Akhter who was the chief guest on the occasion said that the Yatri Niwas, completed at a cost of Rs. 5 crore has 15 spacious halls to accommodate over two thousand people, besides banking, ATM, health care, tourist information, transport and many other facilities available under one roof.
Akhter said that the Tourism Department has developed the infrastructure on modern Lines which has proved to be of immense help in attracting heavy influx of tourists both domestic as well as foreign.
Later, Akhter distributed mementoes among Director Tourism Ajay Khajuria, Deputy Director Tourism T. K. Sadhu, Assistant Director Nassar Goni, Junior Engineers Rakesh Verma and Pankaj Bhardwaj, Contractor Mohd. Saleem for their commendable job in completing the Yatri Niwas within stipulated time frame.
Among others Joint Director Tourism S. M. Sawhney, Deputy Director Tourism, Gurdershan Singh, Presidents of Tour and Travel Association, Hotel Association and other officers of the department were present at the function. |
