| Seminar on problems, strategies in education held | | | Early Times Reporter Leh | June 17 A day long seminar on problems, strategies pertaining to education was jointly organized by the education department, Leh and All Ladakh Teachers’ Association was held here today. The Commerce and Industries minister Nawang Rigzin Jora presided over the seminar while minister of state for education, G M Saroori also attended the seminar. The deputy commissioner, Leh Dr.M K Bhandari, the special secretary to education Anoop Kannaw, the director, school education Mohd. Rafi, officers of education department, Leh, the members of all Ladakh teacher’s association participated in the day long seminar. Addressing the seminar, Jora said that a small society like Ladakh can adopt education as a culture, as the education could be the only tool to lead the future generations of Ladakh to all round the development. The minister said that during the past six years of governance by the present coalition government, much attention was given to streamline the education system in the entire state. As a result, up gradation of many schools, creation of adequate educational infrastructures, filling up of so many schools, filling up of teachers, lecturers and masters have come up and the standard of education has also immensely improved, he added. Besides these, the govt. also fulfilled the genuine demands of the teaching community like the up gradation in pay scale, promotions and other rights, Jora added. Referring to this seminar, minister said that the concept of this seminar was to raise the other important issues and strategies in presence of the education minister and top education functionariews of the state in Leh itself so that they can get a clear idea of the education scenario and needs of Leh district. The minister strongly urged for maintaining the education along with increasing in the pass percentage. The minister of the state for education, G M Sarrori in his address said that education is the foundation of all development, as such a bigger responsibility has top take by the teaching community. He said that it is the duty of govt. to care and fulfill the genuine demands of the teachers but at the same time, responsibility to produce satisfying academic results should be take by the teacher community. Sarrori also said that some of the important cases submitted by the all Ladakh teacher’s association is under the consideration of the govt. at present which would receive positive solution from the govt. very soon. |
