| Unrest among B Ed students, JU authorities maintains lull | | | Jammu / Aug 31 As the B Ed examinations are approaching near unrest among the students is fast picking up but, the Jammu University (JU) authorities have consistently maintained lull over the entire issue. To express their anguish, representatives of all the B Ed colleges from Jammu today assembled in the university premises and shouted slogans against the JU authorities. They also blocked the main road in front of university for over one hour and disrupted the vehicular movement on this ever busy road. Students were demanding open choice in the forthcoming annual examination on the pattern of last year’s examination. Protesting in favour of their demands students shouted slogans against Prof Rajiv Gupta, Director Colleges Development for his alleged failure to secure the rights of B Ed students. They also alleged that authorities are making them scapegoats on one or another pretext. Meanwhile, Prof Rajiv Gupta gave a patient hearing to the protesting students and assured them of highlighting their demand. But, the students have threatened to intensify their struggle if their demands would not be conceded. It is to be mentioned that the session was delayed over the recognization issue due to which the syllabus couldn’t be completed thoroughly.
