| Kho-Kho: Jammu boys bag U-17 title | | Divisional level Inter-district competitions | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 17 Jammu boys and Udhampur girls shared the under-17 year kho-kho titles in the Divisional level inter-district competitions organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel Nagrota, near here. Jammu boys clinched the title beating their counterparts from district Samba Jammu by a narrow margin of just two points. The girls kho-kho under-17 title went to district Udhampur who beat district Kathua by one turn and five points in the final this afternoon. Earlier, in boys semifinals, Jammu trounced Rajouri by wafer thin margin 10-9 while district Samba defeated Doda by one turn and two points. In the girls section, district Udhampur outplayed Kishtwar by a narrow margin of two points and Kathua defeated Jammu by one point. In the final and prize distribution function, Deputy Director DYSS, Madan Lal was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies in both boys and girls sections. Assistant Director DYSS, Ashok Kumar and District Officer Kathua, Inderjeet Kour were also present. Prominent among others who were there included R C Vaid, Jeet Singh, Raj Kumar, Chanchal Kour, Sarita Padha, Manorama Sharma, Vikram Singh, Sadiq Hussain Malik and Radha Bakshi. |
