| Rehmat lifts Karua kesari dangal title | | | Early Times Reporter Jammmu | June 17 Promising wrestler of Doda, who has shifted to Maller Kotla in Punjab, won 10th Annual Kaura Kesari Dangal beating Pinder Ajnala of Punjab in a close fight that took place for the main bout at Kaura in district Reasi. Dangal was organized by Dhansar Dangal Committee in association with Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style Wrestling Association. The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs 3100 by the chief guest, Shiv Kumar Sharma president of the Indian Style Wrestling Association while runners-up, Pinder received Rs 2100 as cash prize money. Bansi Lal Sharma (ex-ZEO) Reasi and Inspector Rajeev Vaid were guests of honour. Second main bout was won by Abdul Gani of Doda, who beat Mukhi of Amritsar while Swarn Singh of Kot Bhalwal held Teg Ali of Maller Kotla in Punjab to a draw in a 27-minute long inconclusive fight. In all, 37 bouts took place between 39 wrestlers from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and J&K. Dhansar Dangal Committee and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of this dangal included Ram Parkash (president), Subash Chander, Ram Dass, Trilok Chand, Rattan Lal, Subash Chander Sharma, Shyam Lal, Shakti Kumar, Baldev Raj, Nasib Singh, Ved Parkash, Khem Raj, Mangat Ram, Fareed, Capt (Retd) Lehar Singh, Master Ram Krishan and Karam Deen. Other results: Ajeeta of Reasi bt Ali of Pathankot; Krishan Singh of Kotli bt Naresh of Jammu; Soaru of Maller Kotla bt Arjun of Jammu; Bir Singh of J&K Police bt Sukha of Ajnala; Liakat Ali of Panthal bt Ravinder Singh of Mahore; Prem Verma of Jhiri bt Palli of Ajnala; Karnail Singh of Narkot bt Narmaid of Darmari; Bobari of Jammu bt Krishan Singh of Kotli; Narinder of Ajanala bt Prem Verma of Jhiri; Kartar Singh of Narkot bt Soaru of Maller Kotla; Nanak Singh of Mahore bt Soaru Deen of Maller Kotla; Bobari of Jammu bt Bir Singh of Reasi; Prem Verma of Jhiri bt Tej Singh of Panasa Reasi. The bouts between Billu of Jindrah and Pritam Singh of Kalakot; Narinder of Ajnala and Bobari of Jammu and Soaru Deen of Maller Kotla and Tej Singh of Panasa ended in a draw. |
