| Kapur to head a committee on land cases with army | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 17 A committee of senior officers of the State government, army and the ministry of defence, headed by Chief Secretary, S. S. Kapur would address all pending land issues between the State government and the army in Jammu and Kashmir. This was decided at a high level meeting held here today between the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Defence Minister, A. K. Antony, also attended by senior officers on both sides. The meeting took up pending cases of vacation of land by the army and decided to constitute a committee of senior officers of the State government, army and the ministry of defence to address these cases. The State Chief Secretary would head the Committee. The Defence Minister said that his ministry would take positive action on the cases pending for years. He said there was perfect coordination between the army and the civil administration and called for further synergy during the coming months which, he said, could be full of challenges. |
