| AE aspirants appeal for deferment of prelim exams | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 11: The Assistant Engineer -aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir province have demanded postponement of deferment of preliminary examination scheduled to be held in the first week of December.
The engineers urged the Public Service Commission to defer the exam as there has been complete shutdown of internet in the valley and Jammu province and they have not been able to get any study material from online and off line modes. "There is no book shop open in Srinagar and even internet services are snapped as a result of which they are placed at a complete disadvantage in absence of study material as well as coaching facilities", they said.
The aspirants expected the Government to have a holistic view of the situation prevailing in the state as the atmosphere prevailing in the valley is not conducive for preparing in free and fair manner with all available resources which are a pre-requisite in such exams.
The unilateral decision of the PSC appears to have been taken in haste and without ascertaining the ground realities. The nature of the exam is such that there has to be free flow of information so that any student can avail the facility irrespective of his location in the Union territory. |
