Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 11: Kashmiri Migrants Demands issuance of EPIC and reservation of five MLAs seats in Union Territory of J&K Assembly , one seat each in LS and RS.
A deputation of Kashmiri Migrants under the banner of KKHMS led by its Chairman/ President Er. Ramesh Chander Mahajan and called on Chief Electoral Officer J&K Rail Head Complex Jammu. The deputation submitted a memorandum which include charter of demands are enumerated below. There is lot of resentment amongst the seven lakh Kashmiri Migrants as no member of their community has been considered in council of ministers as had been a precedence since 1947 when the first govt was formed in the state.
After independence they will not tolerate more injustice now and the community have every right to be part of the ministry as Kashmiri migrants stalwarts have worked shoulder to shoulder with other leaders of the state and centre in freedom movements sacrifices their lives for integrity of the nation and now it shows that govt is itself interested in alienating them. Since 1990 No successive Govt has not framed any concrete policy to bring normalcy and rehabilitate to migrants in the kashmir valley which has gone bad to worse at present.
