Jammu, Nov 11: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages organized a Kavi Darbar 'Guru Nanak: Jeevan Te Virsa' at K L Saigal Hall, Jammu today to commemorate 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Well known poets from different parts of Union Territory of J&K recited their poetry dedicated to the life, contribution and principles of the great Guru, the first Guru of Sikhs. Dr. Monojit, a Punjabi satirist was the chief guest on this occasion whereas the function was presided over by Dr. Jatinder Udhampuri. Jenab Munir- ul- Islam KAS, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL and S. Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi of JKAACL shared the dais. Munir- ul- Islam welcomed the guests, writers and intellectuals present on this occasion. In his address, he said that we should learn about the great persons like Guru Nanak Dev Ji and teachings of Sikhism and act upon accordingly. In his presidential address, Dr. Jatinder Udhampuri appreciated the presentation of quality poetry by the poets of various parts of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and also recited his poem. Dr. Monojit in his address appreciated the role of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages for organizing the programme in connection with the celebrations of 550th Birth Anniversary of sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
