| Shastri wins low scoring game to enter QFs | | Prof Pran Malhotra Cricket Tournament | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 18 The five-wicket haul by Jamsheed go waste after Youth Cricket Club (YCC) lost to Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) by 12 runs in a low scoring game in the ongoing Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Earlier, YCC Bhaderwah won the toss and opted to field. The well planned move to bowl first yielded good results and YCC restricted SCC to a small total of 73 runs in 18.4 overs, courtesy five wickets haul by Jamsheed. But, in reply, YCC could not achieve the small target and lost all their wickets for 61 runs in 31 overs. Bali was top scorer with 25 runs from SCC while Atul contributed 15 runs. Jamsheed was most successful bowler from YCC, who claimed five wickets for 21 runs in 4.4 overs. Mudassar and Mohsin Mohammed shared two wickets each. Batting second, YCC failed in their attempts to overhaul a small target of 74 runs and bowled out for 61 runs in 31 overs. Mohsin Mohammed and Aaqib were main scorers with 16 and 14 runs in their respective accounts. From SCC, Varun took three wickets for 17 runs in eight overs while Gora and Sanjay shared two each. Today’s match was officiated by Brij Mohan Sharma and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpire while B B Verma and Raghav Verma were scorers. |
