Sikh organizations condemns exclusion of various regional languages in recruitment process
11/14/2019 10:47:48 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 14: By keeping out Punjabi, Gojri and other local regional languages out of the recruitment process of gazetted and non-gazetted services in the union territory of J&K, the Various Sikh organizations alleged that the Lieutenant Governor has been misled over the matter by bureaucracy.
While addressing a joint press conference of various Sikh organizations J&K, Sudershan Singh Wazir President Sikh United Front J&K lashed out at the act of bureaucracy of keeping out the regional languages like Punjabi, Gojri and Urdu, out of the preview of a committee constituted by General Administration Department (GAD) to make recommendation for suggesting syllabus for the regional languages for the purpose of conducting examination in the union territory for recruitment to the gazetted and non-gazetted services.
Wazir further added that this seems to be a deep rooted conspiracy by the vested interests to tarnish the image of the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu as the order of constitution of committee is shown to have been issued on 1-11-2019 immediately after assuming the charge by the Lieutenant Governor.
"Though we have reliable reports that the order has been officially conveyed to the members of the committee on 07-11-2019 after back dating it to 1-11-2019," said Wazir.
Wazir requested the Lieutenant Governor to hold a thorough probe into the matter as to how only Kashmiri, Dogri and Pahari language experts have been nominated as the members of the committee to prescribe the syllabus for the recruitment purpose and why other most important languages like Punjabi, Gojri and Urdu have been given a step motherly treatment by the vested interests and who is responsible for this deliberate attempt to divide the peaceful citizenry of the union territory of J&K.
While reiterating that Punjabi, Gojri and Urdu are widely spoken languages in J&K and their exclusion is a clear indication that those at the helm of affairs in the bureaucracy are doing it with nefarious designs to malign the go getter image of the Lieutenant Governor.
Wazir warned the administration not to play with the sentiments of unemployed youth speaking Punjabi, Gojri and other regional languages which are widely spoken in the union territory of J&K.
