| BJP asks Vohra to improve twin shrine boards | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 19 Hailing the appointment of former Home and Defence Secretary N N Vohra as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartia Janta Party has asked him to further improve the two shrine boards, particularly Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, which according to them has come under direct attack from fundamentalists, separatists and some so-called mainstream parties. In a press statement issued here on Thursday BJP has said that fundamentalists, separatists and some so-called mainstream parties have joined hands to scuttle the Amarnath Yatra at all costs and have been projecting the yatra as Hindu aggression on Muslim Kashmir. The statement further said that a particular party, which shamelessly claims credit for getting N N Vohra as their choice in the Raj Bhavan, is publicly indicating that a Muslim bureaucrat is being sent to the Raj Bhavan as Principal Secretary, who would take control of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board as the Chief Executive. All this is being done with the sinister design of undermining and weakening the Shrine Boards as they failed to get the Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habbibullah installed as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir State, the statement said. |
