| Entertain applications of petitioners for Jr. Grade Nurse: HC directs SSRB | | | Early Times Reporter

Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice, Mohammed Yaqoob Mir, has directed J&K Service Selection Board to entertain the applications of petitioners and process the same within four weeks.
This direction was passed today in a petition filed by Sunita Rani & Ors, who have applied for the post of Junior Grade Nurses in pursuance to advertisement notice dated May 31, 2008, issued by the J&K Service Selection Board prescribing 10+2 or above qualification with Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institute. The petitioners possessing qualification of Diploma in Nursing with Matric were denied chance to apply for these post.
Advocate Yaseer Ejaz Tak, appearing for the petitioners, submitted that in J&K Nursing (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules 1971, the qualification prescribed for the post of junior nurse is Matric with diploma in Nursing from SMF. He further said the qualification of 10+2 prescribed in the advertisement runs contrary to the rules and if the applications of the petitioners are not entertained they will loose the chance of competition.
Justice Mir, after considering the arguments of Adv YE Tak appearing for the petitioners, issued notice to respondents’ returnable within four weeks and also directed the respondents to entertain the application of petitioners and process the same. JNF |
