11/22/2019 9:25:44 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 22: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), J&K extended full support to ongoing indefinite strike of J&K High Court Bar Association against shifting of registry work and high court complex from Janipur to Raika forest area.
Led by Uday Chib, State President PYC, the Youth Congress activists joined the lawyers protest at Court Complex, Samba. Warning disastrous consequences of the move of government to shift High Court complex, Chib expressed apprehension of loosing forest cover, which otherwise serves as lungs for polluted atmosphere of the city.
He apprehended some foul play and conspiracy influenced by land grabber mafia active in the vicinity, which would further cause deterioration and depletion of the dwindling forest cover in and around Jammu city. He also said that shifting the power of registration to the administration from the judiciary system will lead to the source of corruption and the people of J&K only have to face all the adverse effects of this decision.
Chib asked the government to shelve the aforesaid proposal floated in the implementation of Smart City project. He said that the existing Court complex at Janipur is already constructed over forest land, which was transferred to the High Court some time back during nineties and at present is established nicely, serving very well to the interest of public as well as Judiciary. It will be unwise to shift the established high court at this stage to an isolated forest land situated in Raika, which is a protected forest area till date.
Chib also thanked Subash Singh Sambyal President Bar Association Samba to take the initiative to involved many other civil societies and political parties to come together and fight for the cause jointly.
Pradesh Youth Congress resolved that any such design in the name of development of Jammu at the cost of existing sparse forest cover shall lead to an agitation against aforesaid shifting of Court complex.
Chib reiterated that Youth Congress will never comprise over such issues and will come on roads if the government mend its ways by roll back its decision of shifting the court complex.
Sandeep Sharma,Sushil Bhagat, Jagdeep Chaheel,Surinder Atari and other youth congress leaders were also present there.
