| Coalition creating 'communal wedge' to sabotage Yatra: SSH | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 20 Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) has accused Congress led coalition government in the state of creating 'communal wedge' to sabotage this year's annual pilgrimage of Amarnath shrine. Addressing media persons here on Friday, SSH national president Pawan Kumar Gupta criticized Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and separatists for their "outrageous views" and creating an "unnecessary controversy" on the transfer of some forest land at Baltal to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for the for the convenience of pilgrims. He condemned Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig remarks and asked him to desist from giving such statements. Gupta criticized National Conference patron and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah for making 'different statements' in the valley over land transfer issue and alleged that Dr Farooq Abdullah has been playing 'double standard game' only to secure 'vote bank' in ensuring assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He further alleged that the state government has transferred the forest land to the SASB with a specific reason of providing accommodation and facilities to pilgrims, adding, "It is pity that 'anti-secular parties' and organizations like Hurriyat Conference have been raising unnecessary controversy to create communal tension in the state. The government had also allotted free land to Hajj House and for the establishment of Muslim Universities, where is the problem to transfer land to SASB?" he questioned. He further accused the state government of its "total failure" to provide basic facilities to pilgrims. |
