| CS for speedy completion of Mughal road project | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 20 Underscoring the need for putting construction of 89 km long Mughal road project linking Kashmir Valley on fast track, Chief Secretary, S. S. Kapur, has asked the executing agency to accelerate the pace of work to ensure speedy completion of this prestigious project. Chairing a meeting of Empowered Committee on the Mughal road, the Chief Secretary directed the implementing agencies to strictly follow the Supreme Court guidelines while constructing the road through forest area. A threadbare discussion was held regarding rehabilitation and payment of compensation to the affected people. Calling for coordinated efforts by different agencies, Kapur directed the Forests and R&B departments to conduct a joint inspection of the road site and ensure the work picks up momentum. The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Anil Goswami, Principal Secretary Planning, Iqbal Khanday, Principal Chief Conservator Forests, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Secretary R&B, Secretary Revenue, Chairman State Pollution Control Board, Managing Director, State Forests Corporation, Director Finance and engineers of R&B and Mughal road project. |
