| Creative teaching must for sustaining pupil interests : Saroori to teachers | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 20 Minister of State for School Education Mr. G. M Saroori distributed awards for “ Best teacher 2005-06 and 2006-07” at GHSS Shastri Nagar Jammu here today which was pending for a long time. Secretary School Education, Director School Education, Jammu, Joint Director School Education, Chief Education Officers were also present on the occasion. The Minister exhorted upon the teaching fraternity to lend the profession the respect it used to command during olden times through exemplary teaching. He said, “teachers are called nation builders because they have the responsibility of moulding the young minds to the right direction.” He said that school is a place where a child spends most of his time and the virtues gained here last with him for life time. Calling upon teachers to lend a helping hand to government’s efforts of universalization of education, Mr. Saroori said that teachers can motivate the children towards studies thereby decreasing the number of dropouts. He asked them to make their teaching innovative and imaginative so that it sustains the interest of present generation who due to information explosion are more aware than their predecessors. “ Onus of creating new age scientists, doctors, engineers more attuned to the present day demands lies upon the teachers”, he reflected. Director School Education Mr. A. K Raina advised the teachers to work with missionary spirit, adopt modern ways of teaching pedagogy to improve the teaching learning process. Principal GHSS Shastri Nagar presented the vote of thanks. |
