Professional Training a Must for better policing: Khoda
545 New Recruits pass out from PTS Manigam

Stating that professional training was a must for better policing, the Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda has underscored the need for imparting training in modern policing to all ranks of the force. “It helps to acquire legal knowledge, build skills and traits, essential for professional policing”, he maintained. He said the role of police in modern age was divers and the expectations of public with police were on rise.
Addressing the attestation cum Passing Out Parade of Trainees of 8th BRTC at Police Training School Manigam, Ganderbal today, the Director General of Police, said that new entrances to professional field has put multifarious responsibilities on trained recruits, “new recruits have to play crucial and challenging role in the modern society”, he added.
He said every person in khaki should reflect the philosophy, values and image of the organization at the field level and maintain integrity, honesty, politeness and justice. Mr. Khoda said new comers to the police force should exhibit firmness in booking the culprits, anti-social and criminal elements by following the law. He advised the recruits to serve the people whole heartedly and listen them patiently whenever they seek help. Policemen should take just decisions, he advised the pass outs.
The Director General of Police said the Manigam Training Institution came into existence in 1998 and is situated in the back drop of serene mountain range of village Haripura Manigam on one side and on the other side is flanked by soothing but roaring Sindh Nallah. Training Complex is presently spread over on 111 kanals and acquisition of more 184 kanlas is under process He said the Institution has trained 10,539 jawans and officers so far in various professional training courses since its inception. He assured the requirements of the institution put forth by the Principal would be look into on priority.
Mr. Khoda said the prevailing security scenario of our state has been afflicted by the menace of militancy and during the period various officers and jawans of JKP have made supreme sacrifices in the fight against the militancy while protecting the life and property of the citizens of the state. It is because of this that the Jammu and Kashmir Police has become one of the best police forces of the country. He said Jammu and Kashmir Police has done commendable role in restoring the peace and normalcy in the state in very difficult period and will continue to serve the people with zest and zeal.
