| 10- run win for Rainawari Club, enters QFs | | Prof Pran Malhotra Cricket Tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 20 Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar today qualified for the quarterfinals of ongoing Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. In today’s pre-quarterfinal, RCC Srinagar defeated Friends Cricket Club (FCC) by a margin of 12 points. Earlier, FCC won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, RCC bowled out for 112 runs in 24.2 overs of the 25 overs match, which, in reply, FCC could not chase the total and exhausted their quota of 25 overs for 102 runs with two wickets in hand. Provin was top scorer from RCC with 26 (off 27 balls, 3x4) runs while Amit and Srikant contributed 18 and 12 runs respectively. From FCC, Ankit and Mitu shared three wickets each while Sonu, Sanjay and Vikas took one wicket each. Batting second, FCC could not maintain the required run-rate and could score only 108 runs for eight wickets in the stipulated overs. Sonu contributed highest 31 runs studded with three fours while Kannav and Sanjay added 21 and 16 runs respectively. Srikant claimed two wickets while Provin and Vijay took one each. Brij Mohan Sharma and Sadiq Hussain Malik were umpires in today’s match while B B Verma and Raghav Verma maintained the score. |
