BCFI for voting OBC candidates to power in coming elections

Jammu | June 21
Decrying the successive state governments for ignoring the people belonging to backward classes in every respect, the Backward Federation India (BCFI) has asked them to vote in favor of the candidates who belong to their own categories and keep others away during the ensuing elections so that the justice could be done to a large number of people who have been begging for fair dealing since long.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, President BCFI, Harbans Lal Verma said that there was no other way to bring justice to eighty five percent of total population of state than to abstain from casting vote in favor of the outside caste candidates as they have been making mockery of every sort towards them since independence.
" The real OBCs which constitute sixty five percent of total population must abstain from casting their votes in case they find no candidates belonging to their own categories in the ensuing Assembly elections in the state," he said.
He alleged that every government that came into power in the state only strangulated the rights of backward classes instead of doing anything for their progress and prosperity.
The successive governments of the state have snatched the rights of OBCs as a result of which the condition of the people belonging to all these categories has deteriorated with every passing day, he added.
He also criticized some leaders having vested political interests for demanding 7-10 percent reservation in favour of OBCs, which according to him should be 27 percent, provided under the provision of constitution of India.
