Jammu | June 21
Terming the five and a half year rule of the Congress-PDP coalition as ‘black period’ in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, State BJP President Ashok Khajuria has said that working of this coalition has negated the very concept of democracy.
Addressing workers meeting at Sunderbani today Khajuria termed the coalition rule as the ‘blackest period’ in the history and said the heart touching slogans of good governance, transparency, work culture and accountability have fallen flat. Today the highly educated youth are citing on dharnas for the last more than one year, those in the government service are on strike for more than 75 days, thousands of daily wagers and adhoc employees are striking for their regularization but the government do not care.
Khajuria said that the PDP had promised at least one job to each family but unfortunately it worked for ousting those who were already in the service. The PDP leaders did not utter a single word for the mitigation of the suffering of the people but worked as sympathizer of separatist and fundamentalists. He said the Congress too did the same by not opposing the ideas of self-rule, joint control, common currency and demilitarization. Congress, he said, is more dangerous than the PDP and NC as it has encouraged these parties just to remain in power, he added.
BJP Chief said that the coming days are very crucial for the party workers as they will have to work round the clock and reach the masses to expose the real faces of the coalition parties. Saying that people are fed-up of this coalition and want a change, he declared that the BJP will win15-20 seats in the coming assembly elections with first Hindu Chief Minister in the state.
Ch. Ra, Saroop, senior BJP leader and Sunderbani-Nowshera District President Capt. Ramesh Lal also addressed the meeting.
