| HC accords relief to contractual lecturers of Poonch | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 21 Vacation Judge of J&K High Court, Jammu Wing, Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir in a petition filed by the contractual lecturers of District Poonch, seeking remuneration for the period of vacations and regularization in the light of judgment of the High Court passed in batch of writ petitions on December 10, 2007, has directed the respondents to treat the petitioners on the same analogy until the objections are filed and also issued notice to state and other respondents returnable within four weeks. The petition filed through Adv Shahzad Azeem seeks direction from the High Court to the state for remuneration for the period of vacations and also regularization on the analogy of a judgment of the State High Court on December 10, 2007 whereby the High Court along with other directions has directed the respondent state that the petitioners shall be allowed to continue till regular selection is made. This is, however, subject to the condition that there is a requirement to continue their engagement, keeping in view the interest of students in particular schools where they have been so appointed. Petitioners could also be entitled to remuneration of Rs 7000 per month for full year even though they are engaged on session to session basis. JNF |
