Punjab wrestlers dominate Aghar Jitto Kesari dangal

Punjab wrestlers clinched the top three bouts to totally dominate the 45th Aghar Jitto Kesari Dangal that took place at Aghar Jitto, near holy town of Katra in district Reasi.
For the main bout played for the Aghar Jittoo title, Jagroop of Amritsar in Punjab defeated Bagha of Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab. Dangal was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association as part of the three-day mela with the help of Baba Jitto temple Development Committee.
He (Jagroop) was given away a cash prize of Rs 3100 by Tehsildar Reasi, Amar Nath Badyal, who was chief guest. Runners-up, Bagha received a cash award of Rs 2000. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and a special guest, Jeremy from California in USA were guests of honour. Jeremy, who is doing PhD in Indian Culture and Languages at University of Michigan, witnessed the whole event.
In all, 47 bouts were played wherein Saba of Amritsar won second main bout outplaying Prahlad Singh of Kalakote in Rajouri to bag cash prize of Rs 1500. Raj Kumar of Malikpur in Punjab emerged winner in third main bout beating Vijay of Delhi while Mohanu of Delhi downed Ramesh of Banaras for fourth bout.
Association members and technical officials of Aghar Jitto Dangal Committee, who helped in the smooth conduct of dangal were Mohan Pal Pujari (president), Gopal Krishan, Mangat Ram, Shanker Singh, Bodh Raj, Bansi Lal, Om Parkash, Bishan Dass, Romesh Kumar, Om Parkash Malkotra, Pt rameshwar, Krishan Lal, Sunil Kohli, Krishan Chand Verma, Capt. Lehar Singh, Master Ram Krishan and Romesh Kumar Sanmotra.

Bout between Jamer Singh of Narkot and Paviter Singh of Didi ended in a draw.
