| KCCC beats Samba by 3 wkts to enter semis | | Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket | | Early Timess Reporter Jammu | June 21 Registering a three-wicket win over Samba District XI, Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) today entered into the semi-finals of ongoing Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College hostel ground here. The winning run came through a six on long-on by Sameer Khajuria, who along with Raman Dutta remained unbeaten. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Kathua XI lost all their wickets for 131 runs in 35 overs of the 40 overs match. In reply, KCCC chased the total in 34 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Rompy was top scorer with 45 runs from Kathua while Bishu and Rakesh contributed 19 and 21 runs respectively. From KCCC, Ashok Kumar bagged three wickets, followed by Raman Dutta and Sameer Khajuria, who shared two each. Chasing a target of over three runs per over, the star studded side of KCCC played with confidence and attained their goal making 137 runs in 34 overs with three wickets in hand. Rajat Jaswal played superb innings of 24 (off 21 balls, 4x4) runs while Pradeep Bali added 18. Bandeep also played well contributing 23 runs to the total. From Kathua XI, Vikas Shallu, Prashant, Nishant and Ompal shared one wicket each. Rajesh Dhar and B K Tickoo were umpires in today’s match while Gianeshwar Sharma was observer. |
