| UKF condemns govt. silence over anti national act in KU | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 20 Holding both separatist and main stream politicians of Kashmir responsible for provocating the common people of valley on the issue of transfer of land to SASB, United Kashmiryat Forum has strongly condemned the government for being mute spectator to the anti national deed of students in Kashmir University where amid pro-freedom and pro-Pakistani slogans, the varsity students unfurled Pakistani flag on Friday. In a meeting organized here on Sunday, the executive members expressed grave shock over the politicization of issue even by those politicians without whose consent the transfer of land would have been impossible. The members resolved that the hue and cry made by the political leaders across the valley triggered the anti national feelings among the common people of Kashmir and as a result of which the students of KU not only unfurled the Pakistani flag but also shouted slogans in favor of militant organizations. Coming down heavily on government for remaining tight-lipped over the happening in Kashmir University, the members stressed upon the government to take strong action against the students found guilty. Describing the hue and cry of Deputy Chief Minster, Muzaffar Hussain Beig as needless because of his party being a part of the transfer process, the members of UKF decried him of befooling the people of Kashmir at a time when elections for the Assembly are approaching nearer. The members decried Muzaffar Hussain Beig for seeking punishment for CEO, SASB Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma for just defending the transfer of land and remaining tight lipped for the act of KU students for their anti national deeds in the campus. President UKF, Bharat Raina on the occasion said that the way the Kashmiri leadership has enmasse reacted the transfer of land to SASB, it has created a blot on the history of mutual brotherhood and composite culture, adding that the communal politics being played by a vast chunk of Kashmir politicians would certainly validate the view point of vast number of people across the Globe who consider "Kashmiriyat" being a hollow slogan. The members of the Forum however pledged to work relentlessly for resurrection of Kashmiriyat in the valley for the over all benefit of the people. |
