12/4/2019 9:23:28 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 4: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh has welcomed the L.G Garish Chander Murmu and central govt for extending seventh pay commissions benefits to Govt employees being U.T while addressing the media Sh. Subash Verma president and Ashok Choudhary Gen. Secretary alleged that Govt failed to issue notification regarding minimum wages applicable in U.T. BMS demand that minimum wages notification be issued at par with central Govt minimum wages applicable in other U.T so that thousands of workers working in private sector, factories, private schools, Security Guards and daily wagers can be benefitted. In industries 12 hour hour duties is being taken with inhumane conditions and workers are being hired from open market and by evening their wages paid in cash and managements save ESI and PF contributions. The NHM, Aganwadi workers, Asha workers, Mid days meals workers and all other scheme workers be also given the benefits of similar U.T. The wages of aganwadi workers is pending for the last more than 10 months and poor aganwadi workers helpers are facing financial hardships their pending wages be released and in feature month wise salary be given
it is further appealed to L.G for regulating the transfers in Govt departments as at present transfer has become transfer Industry in which lakhs are exchanged hands for managing lucrative postings and have no value of hard working
BMS has opposed the central govt on the proposed I.R Draft code in which some workers favourable provisions has been dropped like 45 days compensation in case of retrenchment to old one of 15 days fixed term employment like casualisation and contracualisation and many more employer friendly provisions has been added in the I.R Code which are not acceptable and BMS has decided to oppose such anti workers decisions with tooth and nails
Press conference was attended by Subash Verma President Ashok Choudhary Gen. Secretary, Harbans Choudhary, Chuni Lal, Shamsher Chand, Dev Parkash Neelam Sharma, Rohit Seth and Ravi Kumar etc.
