| Natrang stages Hindi play ‘Aag’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 22 Natrang a theatre promotion organization, which has been performing plays based on the highly relevant burning issues since its inspection in 1983, today staged Balwant Thakur’s Hindi play ‘Aag’ here. The play ‘Aag’ written by Thakur portrays the drug addicts who are ruining their lives and their suicidal attempts to poison themselves through various drugs. Making it locally relevant, the play revolves around the story of an elderly man who runs a mobile shop and earns about a hundred rupee per day but consumes the whole earning in alcohol. By the time he is to go to home he looses his senses and is unable to move. His wife and the children are shown taking him home by putting entertainment watching the man’s coming home from the roof top. At home when he gains his consciousness he looks for food. From where the food could come as the whole earnings are consumed in alcohol. On this the dunked man beats his wife and children. This is how the play shows that a drug addict not only poisons himself but also ruins his family and spoils the whole society. The play gives a strong social message. The artists who participated in the play included Mohit Sharma, Gaurav Jamwal, Rohit Verma, Rahul Singh, Vijay Koul, and kamakshi Patyal and Inder Pal Singh. Lights were looked after by Akush Lakhnotra and the stage was management by Amit Sharma. |
