| Army’s Western Command bids adieu to Gen Sinha | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 22 A grand banquet was organized at Satwari Garrison by the Army’s Western Command in honour Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha, the outgoing Governor of J&K. Several senior serving and retired military officers and civilian dignitaries attended the function. Lt Gen TK Sapru, GOC-in-C of Western Command, recounted the landmark achievements of Lt Gen (Retd) SK Sinha as a soldier in pre and post independence wars as also a great role played by him, after his retirement, in high rank civil assignments. He emphasized that Lt. Gen Sinha has been a distinguished soldier, an outstanding orator and a writer as also an Ambassador and Governor in insurgency / terrorism affected states. People have been benefited from his rich experience and knowledge as also from his special quality of reaching out to people of all walks of life. Lt Gen (Retd) SK Sinha appreciated the contributions made by the Western Command and its formations in normalizing the sensitive situation in J&K. He also expressed his deep gratitude for providing all the required assistance during his tenure. |
