| Sinha presented Zorawar Singh award | | | Early Times Reporter

S K Sinha, the outgoing Governor was conferred upon first General Zorawar Singh Award by Council for Promotion of Dogri Language, Culture and History, which was presented to him this evening at Abhinav Theatre here during a historic farewell function organized by the council chairman Bhim Singh.
The council has also proposed Sinha’s name as the honorary chairman of the selection committee for the selection of Dogra Ratan Awards instituted by the council.
Names of the members of the selection committee include Padma Sachdev, Prof. M.R Puri, Justice K.K. Gupta, Maj. Gen. (rtd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Dr. Champa Sharma, Prof. Zahur-ud-Din, and D.C. Parshant. The Dogra Ratan Awards are confirmed every year on October 27, the day Jammu and Kashmir exceeded to the Union of India in 1947. |
