Jammu | June 22
Amidst allegations and counter-allegations the communal row over transfer of forest land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board is refusing to die as in yet another turn of events, the BJP has called for blocking the supply of essential commodities to Kashmir Valley.
The BJP has also announced to file a case against the Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig for allegedly inciting communal passions. Incidentally Baig accused the Shrine Board Chief Executive Officer Dr Arun Kumar of making communally provocative statements. “We are planning to file a case against Baig under section 153A of CRPC for inciting communal passions by making provocative statements that the outgoing Governor Gen Sinha and his Principal Secretary Dr Arum Kumar want to put Jammu and Kashmir on fire”, said BJP state president Ashok Khajuria while addressing a press conference here this morning.
Khajuria said that the ongoing controvery over tranfer of land to Amarnath shrine baord has all the ingreidients of flaring in to communla tension across the region. He said the people in Jammu region will also observe a complete bandh in Jammu and would not mind to go in for economic blockade to the Valley in case the PDP and separatists give a bandh call in Kashmir against Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) or in case they vitiate and derail the ongoing Amarnath yatra.
Referring to the case lodged against a senior official of Raj Bhavan by the PDP and said this has very serious and sinister ramifications. Instead of initiating disciplinary action against a government servant for his so-called acts of omission or commission, the PDP has made the issue public, which has all the potential of flaring up communal passions against Amarnath pilgrims, who are currently visiting the Valley for the yatra.
Arun Kumar has committed no crime by saying how could the four lakh yatris cause pollution in Kashmir when Kashmir houses a population of fifty lakh?, said Khajuria
Khajuria questioned the credibility of the coalition government where a senior Minister is talking naked communalism and said if this is the concern for the rule of law, then why is the Deputy Chief Minister not initiating similar criminal proceedings against Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Umar, who are openly preaching sedition?
Red carpets are rolled for them and full security cover is provided to them by the state government, he said. He wondered this hypocrisy and double-standard are undoubtedly a bad omen for the nation and an open threat to secular values.
Khajuria also took to task Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who joined hands with the communal and ill-mannered Deputy Chief Minister and instituted an inquiry committee against the Governor's Principal Secretary, instead of sacking his deputy, thus making it more than clear that he and his deputy are two sides of one and the same coin and that both of them are determined to outrage the Hindu sentiments and give a particular type of orientation to everything in Kashmir.
Khajuria expressed serious concern over the orchestrated propaganda on diversion of land to the SASB and said that unwarranted and dangerous euphoria is being created over an imaginary Amarnath Nagar and "demographic change in Kashmir on Israel pattern". If demographic change is a concern, it is for the Jammuites who have been watching desperately mega colonies of Kashmiri Muslims coming up in the Jammu's periphery in Sidhra and Bathindi. This land is a forest land which must be vacated immediately, he said, and warned that if this is not done in a time-frame, then the BJP and other like-minded organizations in Jammu will be forced to sit on dharna on the roads leading to these colonies.
