Renowned educationist, social worker and chairman of Shri Sain Charitable Trust Dr Roop Lal Sharma has been elected as the president of the prestigious Indian Hospital Association, Jammu Chapter by the office bearers of the association.
The elections which were held on Saturday after the executive body of the IHA (Jammu Chapter) met under the chairmanship of Dr Taran Singh elected Dr Roop Lal Sharma as its president keeping in view his tremendous contribution to society and medical profession.
The executive body also elected the office bearers which include Dr AS Manhas and Dr Manoj Chalotra MHA as Vice Presidents, Dr Taran Singh as Secretary, and Mr Pritam Singh as Treasurer of the Indian Hospital Association (Jammu Chapter).
The Executive body in the meeting decided to hold a state level seminar for the Hospital Administrators in the month of August and a National seminar in the month of October in Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion after the elections Dr Roop Lal Sharma thanked the members for electing him as the President of the IHA (Jammu Chapter) adding the faith that the members reposed in him would be reciprocated with complete sincerity and dedication towards the association and the cause of the Hospitals.
Dr Roop Lal Sharma assured that an intensive drive would be launched to enroll more members in the association to further strengthen the IHA in Jammu and at national and international levels.
Dr Taran Singh, Secretary IHA (Jammu Chapter) while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the importance of professional hospital management and said that the competition between private and the government sector was more desirable to improve the quality of services in the Govt sector hospitals.
He further invited private sector to come forward to invest in Health Sector to increase the bed patient ratio which have not kept pace with the population explosion.
Dr Manoj Chalotra MHA also thanked the IHA members for electing him as Vice President of the prestigious organization. He said this was the only organization of hospital administrators which is affiliated to International Hospital Federation Paris (France)
