NMC demands removal of pay anomalies

Jammu, Dec 8: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Minister of State Finance to accept the recommendations of the long pending report of the Ashok Lavasa Committee to remove pay/pension anomalies in the lower grade staff of both central/state government services and pensioners, so that lower class employees and pensioner would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation.
"We urge the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister and Minister of state Finance to accept recommendations of the committee headed by former Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa constituted for removing pay/pension anomalies in respect of lower grade pay of staff in different categories and pensioners by the Central government in July 2016," Shastri said this while addressing a well attended meeting of NMC workers here.
Pleading the genuine cause of state pensioners, NMC members also appealed union territory administration to issue necessary order for enhancing of the rate of medical allowance from Rs.300/- to Rs.1000 per month of j & k UTs pensioners in accordance with the central Govt. pensioners for which earlier regimes paid no heed to this human issue.
They also demanded an early creation of separate wage head for uninterrupted release of monthly wages of daily rated workers of various government departments.
Besides, he also demanded total exemption of DA from income tax slab implementation of total Centre labor laws in UTs, setting up off labor welfare advisory Board and enhancing minimum wage of daily rated workers to rupee six hundred per day etc. were other demands highlighted in the meeting.
