CITU demands implementation of labour laws

Jammu, Dec 8: Comrade Kashmir Singh, All India Secretary of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) expressed his serious concerns over non- implementation of labor laws such as minimum wages and Social Security Schemes to the workers working in Railway projects, four lane roads, border roads ( BRO/GREF), ASHA, Anganwari, Mid-Day Meal working in central sphere and contractual, ad- hock, need base, daily wages, contingency workers working in different departments of J&K government. He urged upon the government to pay minimum wages as per central government notification and cover all the workers under social security schemes like EPF, ESI, and Pension etc. He opposed the Modi government move against anti-workers amendments in labour laws which have been achieved through hard struggle and scarifications by the working class of our country. Further, he called upon all the workers to participate in all India strike on 08.01.2020 called by Ten Central Trade Unions.
He condemned the steps taken by the government of Jammu & Kashmir in regard to unbundling of Power Development Department (PDD) including its ancillary units is bound to backlash and resulting into detrimental effects both on employees and the consumers in the state.
He Condemned the Modi government for abrogation of Article 370 and degradation of state into union territories and continues restrictions on communications and detention of political leaders for the last more than four months and stressed upon the government to release M.Y.Tarigami, president of CITU and all other political leaders who kept under detention and demanded for restoration of Internet services immediately.
