Rahul stoops low
12/8/2019 10:58:14 PM
Former president of the All India Congress Committee
Rahul Gandhi has once again stirred the hornet's nest by stating "India has become the rape capital" of the world. His comments has shocked one and all as no one expected Rahul to stoop so low to settle political scores with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has emerged as an undisputed leader of the country. Prior to 2014 Parliamentary polls, Rahul was projected as the new Prime Minister of the country by the then ruling party Congress but the Congress lost power in 2014 as the Modi wave decimated the grand old party. In 2019, Rahul Gandhi led the Congress' campaign in the General Elections but once again PM Modi swept India and led his party to an emphatic victory. After loosing face in the 2019 Parliamentary polls, Rahul resigned from the post of the party president and went into oblivion. He woke up briefly when Jammu & Kashmir was reorganized this year and that time also he was caught on a wrong foot as he played into the hands of Pakistan by alleging that mass killings have taken place in Kashmir. He had to eat a humble pie when facts came to fore that no one had been killed in the Valley post August 5. When entire country is mourning the brutal killings of Unnao and Hyderabad rape victims, Rahul has once again opened his mouth by training guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his desperation to score brownie points, he has termed India as the "rape capital of the world" and has gone to claim that "our country is ruled by a man who believes in violence only". Someone needs to tell him (Rahul) that he is a leader of a political party which has ruled the country for decades and has played a pivotal role in the freedom movement of the country. One can understand that Rahul has spent most of his time in foreign countries but that doesn't mean that he would make a mockery of his own nation. He needs to grow up and realize that certain issues touch the skin of a common man. The recent unfortunate incidents have brought people across the country on streets. They are demanding stringent laws against the rapists. Hyderabad Police killing 4 rape accused in an encounter has evoked the mixed reaction, leaders and intellectuals have reacted cautiously but the common people across the nation have hailed Hyderabad Police. Rahul seems to be totally unaware about the ground realities.
