12/9/2019 9:41:17 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 9: To promote and strengthen farm mechanisation, a field demonstration of Super Seeder Sowing Machine was conducted today at border village Allah of Sub Division R. S. Pura in presence of Sh P. S. Rathore, Director Agriculture, Jammu amid a group of local farmers. The demonstration was conducted by Department of Agriculture in collaboration with J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd.
The Super Seeder demonstration was conducted an area of 6 acres. This is a unique machine that helps in ploughing and mulching of the standing paddy residue and sowing seed for next wheat crop, in a single operation, remarked Director Agriculture while interacting with the progressive farmers on the occasion. Super Seeder is an eco-friendly technology as it can be used for sowing of wheat without removing paddy residue due to which practice of burning crop residue can be avoided. The farmers were advised to adopt such innovative equipment as it helps in conservation of soil moisture, checking wastage of seed and fertilizer and is cost effective as well.
It was informed on the occasion that super seeder helps to drop the seeds and fertilizers at equal distances and proper depth, ensuring that seeds get covered with soil and saved from being eaten by birds.
