| DDC reviews arrangements of weekly Poonch-Rawalakot bus service | | | Early Times Reporter Poonch | June 23 To discuss the arrangements of weekly bus service on Poonch-Rawalakot road across LOC from Chakan Da Bagh crossing point, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch B.B Sharma took a meeting of officers here today. The meeting was attended by SSP, Poonch, representatives of Customs and Immigration and senior officers of, R&B, PHE and PDD. The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the officers to be polite and humble towards the transientors and the guests coming from other side of LOC. The arrangements of loading and unloading of commercial goods for trade purpose between the two parts of the state were also discussed. Rangar Nallah on Poonch-Rawalakot road was finalized as the location for the trade goods. It may be recalled that Poonch-Rawalakot road was opened on June 20, 2006 from Chak Da Bagh Tatrinote crossing point. Nearly 1468 Indians have crossed LoC and gone to POK to meet their relatives, out of which 1442 have returned back up to June 16, 2008. Similarly, 2225 PoK nationals had visited to this side, out of them 2135 persons have returned back. The visits of persons of the divided families on both sides of LoC have helped a lot in bringing normalcy, peace and friendly atmosphere. |
