| ADC Kathua convenes election meeting | | | Early Times Reporter
Kathua | June 23
As a follow up of the meeting convened by Deputy Chief Election Commissioner at Jammu with the Deputy Commissioners, an election meeting of all the Tehsildars AEROs/ ERO was called by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua D R Sharma here today.
There are 402747 voters in district Kathua which include 210301, male and 192446 females. It was also apprised that 1, 85, 780 electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) have already been issued while 2, 16, 967 are pending.
Guidelines were also issued to the AEROs for preparing the residual EIPCs along with working copy of electoral rolls, Form No.00IB have been issued to all the Tehsildars/AEROs polling station wise for the distribution of the same to the BLOs (Booth Level Officers).
The meeting was told that there are 541 polling stations in the district. As per the instructions of Election Commissioner of India one BLO has been appointed for one polling station, who will also carryout preparation of EPIC in the polling station. The AEROs were directed to ensure photography and preparation of EPICs by the BLOs.
The AEROs were directed to propose appointment of the supervisors within two days to District Election Officer Kathua. They were also directed to ask the residual electorates to submit two passport size photographs in advance to the BLOs so that work of EPICs may be conducted smoothly and hundred percent target achieved. |
