12/11/2019 9:15:34 PM
Early Times Report

Kathua, Dec 11: The work remained suspended for the 41st working day in the District & Session Court Kathua including all other subordinate courts of the entire District Kathua as complete shutdown was observed by District Bar Association Kathua in support of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu.
The ongoing strike is being observed against the issue of snatching of registration powers from Judicial Officers and given to already overburdened revenue authorities. The members of the Bar Association also sat on a massive Dharna which was again observed in the premises of District & Sessions Court Kathua by members of District Bar Association Kathua for the 11th consecutive working day led by President of District Bar Association Kathua Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma. The members in one voice agitated against the decision of government to transfer of registration. The members also raised sloganeering against the decision of Governor Administration of J&K and gave the ultimatum to J&K UT Administration to immediately divert back the registration powers to Judicial Officers otherwise their peaceful protest if turned violent then the Bar or Advocates shall not be held liable.
The Bar members warned the government to get ready to face the heat of this wrong decision of diverting of registration powers in few days.
The members of the Bar again appealed to Lt Governor GC Murmu, and Home Minister Amit Shah to invite J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu for resolving the matter soon.
