ADC tours border villages, assesses situation

KATHUA, Dec 11: ADC Kathua, Ghanshyam Singh along with other officers today visited villages Rathua, Pansar and Manyari to take stock of situation after cross border firing at Hiranagar Sub Division of Kathua district.
ADC interacted with the villagers and inquired about the problems being faced by them. Border dwellers informed the ADC about incidents of cross border shelling. ADC also inspected the ongoing work of individual and community bunkers and assured the border dwellers that the pace of construction work of bunkers will be expedited so that the remaining work will get completed in time and the residents can use these bunkers as and when the need arises.
He also asked the officers of Hiranagar Sub Division and security forces to maintain constant vigil along the border and remain alert to respond to villagers' call immediately for ensuring safety of border dwellers. Meanwhile, several delegations called on the ADC and apprised him of problems being faced by them seeking an early redressal of the same. ADC also took stock of identified shelter homes and basic amenities like water, electricity and medical facilities being provided to the people residing in border areas and directed the concerned officials to ensure availability of essential services.
Among others, the ADC was accompanied by SDM Hiranagar Suresh Kumar, Tehsildar and other concerned Sub Division level officers.
