Govt. committed to equitable development of all regions: Qazi

Minister for Forests and Environment Qazi Mohammad Afzal has said that coalition government has taken several developmental projects in hand in Ganderbal district. He said on completion, these projects would not only provide better facilities to the people but also create employment opportunities for the youth of the area.
Qazi Afzal was addressing public gatherings at Behama, Watilar and Chount Wali War in Ganderbal constituency today.
He said that the government was committed to provide better facilities to the people of the state in all sectors and in this regard several welfare projects have been taken in hand. He said government was committed to provide equitable development of all the three regions of the state.
At Chaunt Wali War, Qazi Afzal asked the concerned authorities to survey Lal Marg, Mohan Marg, Tragibal and Krishive areas and formulate a comprehensive project for taking the areas under tourist map. He said a Primary Health Centre would be established in the area besides Angan Wari Centres. He directed the concerned officers to repair all hand pumps which are not functioning properly. Qazi Afzal said that the construction of five lift irrigation schemes and several major and minor road projects in the area are in full swing. He said that to complete these projects expeditiously sufficient funds would be provided by the state government.
Referring to the demands put forth by the locals, Qazi Afzal announced that a transformer would be installed at Behama village soon. He said that Water Supply Schemes, Manigam would be commissioned soon and a separate pipe line would be installed for village Behama. He said that 10 cubic pumps would be constructed on Baba Canal and Rs.2 crore would be spent on the repairs and renovation of the canal. He said that a playground would also be laid in the area.
