| HC stays order disassociating associate Prof from internal examination | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | June 23
Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir, in a petition filed by the Associate Professor Pharmacology Department challenging the order disassociating him from internal examination, has issued notice to state of J&K through Chief Secretary and Ors returnable within four weeks and ordered that in the meantime impugned order dated March 10, 2008 be not acted upon until final decision in the inquiry dated May 23, 2007 or further orders from this Court.
This direction has been passed in the petition filed by Dr. Zahid Hussain Geelani allegedly involved in leakage of question paper of MD Pharmacology Department. The then Principal GMC Dr. Mumtaz Goni had conducted enquiry through a committee consisting Professor SK Sharma Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Jammu who submitted his report on May 23, 2007.
The petitioner has prayed before the Court for quashment of communication No PA (CE)/08/5361-62 dated March 10, 2008 and enquiry report dated May 23, 2007 submitted by the enquiry committee as well as the enquiry proceedings and also seeking direction to the respondents to disassociate Dr. VS Chopra from holding examinations in the department of Pharmacology GMC Jammu in the capacity as first examiner in view of judgment passed in a writ petition on February 25, 2008.
