| Karra to address AI's human rights roundtable | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 23 Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Minister for Finance, Housing & Urban Development Tariq Hameed Karra has been invited by the Amnesty International to address a roundtable conference on human rights scenario in Jammu & Kashmir at New Delhi on June 26. Karra is the only politician from Jammu & Kashmir who would be addressing the maiden roundtable being organized by the globally acclaimed human rights watchdog. He will be speaking on "Non-state armed groups and India's response in Jammu & Kashmir" and elaborate on the PDP's policy of political reconciliation and healing touch philosophy at the conference. This would be for the first time that a mainstream politician from the State would be addressing any discourse on human rights being organized by the Amnesty International. Several human rights activists, academicians and legal luminaries from within and outside the country would be addressing the roundtable. |
