DC Kathua reviews progress of languishing projects

Kathua, Dec 13: Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat today reviewed the status of the languishing projects approved by Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) at a meeting of line departments.
He took stock of the progress made on each project approved under the languishing category.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer of EM&RE Circle, Karamchand, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh, Dy. Dir. Planning, GMC Kathua, Babu Ram, Engineers from PHE, PWD, PDD and CEO besides senior officers of all concerned departments.
The DC took scheme-wise physical and financial review of progress on projects undertaken by different departments and funded under the languishing project scheme in the district. He also reviewed the technical sanctioning, administrative approval and tendering progress of several projects. He impressed upon the executing agencies to complete the projects within the set deadline and ensure that transparency is maintained in the execution. He directed the executing agencies to upload the bills of completed works for timely payment to the contractors. The meeting also discussed the challenges faced by the Departments in implementation of certain projects. DC also exhorted upon the executing agency to complete all projects concerning Education sector on time and further stressed on ensuring drinking water facility at schools. Road clearance issue for transportation of construction material besides other issues were also discussed in detail.
DC directed all the concerned officers to meet the deadline of all projects before 30 March, 2020 except road projects as the appropriate time for laying premix is in summer season.
