Assistant Drugs Controller conducts surprise inspection at Doda, Kishtwar

Jammu, Dec 13: Assistant Drugs Controller , Doda/Kishtwar Farida Parveen carried out surprise inspections of Retail Sale Outlets situated in twin Districts of Chenab Valley to ensure availability of quality drugs in the far flung areas.
During the drive, operations of eleven Retail Sale Establishments were disallowed u/s 22 (d) of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 on spot for non maintenance of sales records, impersonation, unhygienic/insanitary conditions, improper storage conditions etc.
The Licenses were warned of severe action in case the deficiencies are not removed within stipulated period of time. The firms found violating the conditions of licenses are M/S New Health Care Medicos Near District Hospital Kishtwar, M/S Danish Medical Shop near R&B Complex Kishtwar, M/S Ashok Medical Shop Near District Hospital Kishtwar, M/s Kishtwar Medicos Kishtwar, M/S Asad Health Chemist & Druggist Near DH Kishtwar, M/S Medico Chemist Opp. DH Kishtwar, M/S Zubeeda Medicose Near District Hospital Kishtwar, M/S Om Medicate Sartingal Bhaderwah, M/S Saher Medicate Sader Bazar Bhaderwah, M/S Hashia Medical Hall Saddar Bazar Bhaderwah, M/S Malik Medical Hall Old Bus Stand Bhaderwah
Statutory drug samples of ten formulations including Antibiotics, PPI, Steroid, NSAIDs etc were also for determination of strength and purity. These samples were referred to Drug Testing Laboratories locate within the State. The results of analysis are expected within one month as per the legal provisions for framing legal opinion to ascertain their quality parameters.
The members of trade fraternity were impressed upon to maintain sales records of Drugs falling under Schedule H and H1 strictly as per mandated legal provisions.
