| Squint surgery performed at Military hospital | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 24 Squint surgery, first of its kind, has been performed at 166 Military Hospital Jammu by Lt Col Shrikant Waikar, classified Specialist in Ophthalmology. The operation was successfully carried out on a two year old child who had a large degree of alternating convergent squint in both eyes. The squint was cured and the eye became normal on the very next day of the operation. Squint is a condition in which there is a loss of coordination in the movements of both the eyes, usually the two eyes move together while looking at any object. Incase a child with squint is not treated early he is likely to develop a form of visual loss called amblyopia or lazy eye. Jammu based Military Hospital Commanded by Brig KR Salgotra, has ensured most advanced treatment modalities for all the patients in the hospital. |
