| Current Indo-Pak dialogue a harbinger to bilateral peace: Soz | | Govt. to consider tehsil status to Yaripora soon: Mangat | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 24 Union Minister for Water Resources and JKPCC President Prof. Saif-ud- Din Soz today said that ongoing bilateral dialogue between the two neighboring countries of India and Pakistan is a harbinger to eternal peace between them. "There is no doubt that both India and Pakistan are exploiting every chance and scope for bringing out a solution to the vexed Kashmir problem", he said and added that once an atmosphere of peace prevails, development and prosperity are natural corollaries. The Minister was addressing a well attended gathering at Yaripora an upcoming town in Kulgam. Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma and other senior congress leaders of the area accompanied the Minister. Emphasizing on making a collective efforts by all including the common masses, the politician, the bureaucracy and intellectuals, Soz said that nation building asks for an integrated and sincere endeavor from all. "Let us have a collective vision to visualize common dreams and let us help each other realize them", Soz said and added Kashmir has witnessed a period of turbulence but now it was on the track of resurgence. He said that during his tenure, the Water Resources Ministry has doled out an amount of Rs.700 crore for developing irrigation and other related infrastructure for Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister assured the people that their genuine demands including introduction of commerce stream at Yaripora, Higher Secondary would be fulfilled soon. He announced Rs.5 lakh for setting up of Computer and Science Lab in the Institution. Health Minister in his address said that Kashmir has always mirrored an ethos of brotherhood, tolerance and secularism and appreciated the people of Yaripora who have always maintained cordial relations among themselves despite having a plurality of various sects living on its soil. He said that during the ugly, repugnant days of partition when many people got killed due to communal violence that Mahatma Gandhi saw a ray of hope in Kashmir. On the occasion, he said that time was good enough for the Pandit families who have migrated to other parts of country to return to their homes. Sharma assured the locals that their long pending demand of tehsil status to Yaripora will be fulfilled within short period of time. He also directed to expedite the construction work of Sub District Hospital Yaripora so that early benefits reach to the people of the area. Many local politicians, officers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. |
