| Rains exposed sub-standard material used in sewage treatment plant | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 24 The material used in sewage treatment plant in Talab-Tillo area has been totally washed away during the recent rains, said Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu president Panthers students union at a meeting held at party head office here today. Pandu said work on sewerage treatment plant was started in area, three months back. For laying the underground pipes the roads were digged down by the department of sewerage, causing a lot of inconvenience to the common people. However, the work was completed and black topped and mattled just fifteen days back. But the rains have exposed the sub-standard material used by the concerned agency. The roads have been washed away and one can see trenches with full of mud and water, putting people a lot of inconvenience especially to the students community who have to move to and fro for attending the coaching classes etc. also to Sr. citizens and general public, as well. A number of accidents have taken place in the said locality causing serious injuries to the people. He appealed to the chief minister and the minister of roads and buildings that the inquiry through CBI made in this connection. The contractor and the agency involved in this project be brought to the books and the CAPD of the said contractor/ contract of the agency be also cancelled as it is a clear case of bungling and misuse of public money. |
