| BJP Mahila Morcha launches signature drive against price hike | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | June 24
BJP national vice-president and member of parliament from Chattisgarh Karuna Shukla along with BJP Mahila Morcha general secretaryand member of parliament from Baroda Jayaben Thakkar today held a meeting with the state office bearers of Jammu and Kashmir BJP Mahila Morcha.
The Mahila Morcha leaders briefed the visiting national leaders of the morcha’s political activities being undertaken in the state during the last three months. They also briefed them about the next programmes to betaken up.
Karuna Shakula, while interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of the meeting said that the morcha is gretaful to the party’s central leadership for granting reservation of 33 percent in organizational set up. Reiterating demand for reservation to the womenin parliament and state assembalies. She saisd that the BJP led NDA had brought bill in this regard but could not get it passed due to non-cooperation of other political parties.
Jayaben Thakkar, on this occasion, said that the price rise has badly affected the women as they cannot manage their kitchen budget. She disclosed that the Morcha will soon submit one crore signatures to the president and make her awrae of the problems being faced by the people due to sky rocketing prices. She, while stressing on women empowerment said that the women are no less than men in any field and have proved their ability when ever given a chance. She said the women can play a very important role in building a strong nation. |
