‘Rather a conspirator, his party a stooge’, says Murtaza

PDP today came out heavily on NC leadership for what it termed ‘NC's gimmick of misleading the people’ and made it clear that it will not allow any political and cultural vandalism and that it was ready to sacrifice to protect and preserve the eco cultural heritage of Kashmir.
In a statement issued here today, senior PDP leader and MLC Murtaza A. Khan lambasted NC leadership over misleading the people adding that Abdul Rahim Rather was lying blatantly and people want to know from him about the circumstances which compelled NC to enact a law authorizing SASB to encroach upon the soil of Kashmir. Khan said that Section 16 clause (d) of this controversial Act reads …’to undertake developmental activities in the concern area of the Shrine and its surroundings’. Khan questioned Rather as to why the section was not defined properly and what was the agenda of not defining the area of Shrine and its surroundings. Khan said that it was here that NC gave inroads to the SASB under a hidden agenda to encroach upon the land of the state. Khan said that NC throughout its history acted as a stooge eroding the constitution and special status of the state. He asserted that section 16 clause (g) sub-section (i), (ii) and (iii) of the controversial SASB Act empowers the Board "to undertake the construction of buildings for their accommodation; the construction of sanitary work; the improvement of means of communication. Khan said that average citizenry of the state could well understand the designs behind the enactment of this law. "Rather is a conspirator and his party a stooge" Khan said and asserted that PDP led coalition government at the very beginning filed an appeal in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir following the judgment passed by the Court of Justice Kohli on April 15 in OWP No. 732/04 and that the government got that judgment stayed.
Khan said that NC acted as defector while PDP rectified the wrongs committed by NC government. “They are agent crates and they proved it while siding with S K Sinha through out his tenure as Governor of the state. Whether it was question of revocation of draconian laws imposed by the Farooq regime, reduction of troops or undermining the constitution of the state or renaming the Centre for Kashmir Studies as Institute of Kashmir Studies aimed to influence the thought process in a particular direction by distorting the history of Kashmir, NC leadership backed Sinha in all anti-Kashmir moves and motives. "Was their anything personal when Mufti Muhammad Sayed as Chief Minister denounced S. K. Sinha for his moves aimed at undermining the constitution of the state and that of the State government over the very issue of timing of the Yatra" Khan questioned and remarked that at that point of time Dr. Farooq and his party supported Sinha in order to take home his blessings through PDP bashing, at that stage NC leadership was very eager to see the state once again under governor's rule. It was very tragic that National Conference joined hands with all those seeking to suppress the voice of the people and vandalize the eco-cultural tradition of the state. Dr. Farooq Abdullah very unfortunately sided with the governor and openly defended his moves of destroying the social fabric and secular mosaic of the state through unprecedented polarization with communal overtones. Dr. Farooq Abdullah showered praises on S. K. Sinha in his nefarious designs to conquer the intellectual frontiers, all evidences and eventualities suggest that Farooq and his son were supporting Sinha's extension as governor of the state under a broader understanding because power has always been prime goal of National Conference and that is what they were aspiring by backing S K Sinha in all his controversial moves."
